The one book you need when getting a puppy. Incredibly informative with a great layout and lovely glossy photos!!! Everything from choosing the right breeder to problem solving! I'm sure I'll be dipping in and out of this book as I go through the challenges of a brand new puppy!
Too basic. If you know anything at all about dogs, you know to take them to the vet, from them, etc.
I'm sure I've read other books on puppy care but I found this to have lots of ideas and information I'd not read before. While some of it is rather obvious, it's the type of things you just don't think of until someone points them out. I especially liked the advice on how to determine how well taken care of and adjusted a pup is by watching it interact with other pups and the people who raised it. This is a short read, probably under and hour so it's a good introduction to the basic information you'd need to start your search for a great pet.
I have not owned many dogs by some people standards. I have owned a mutt and a purebred boxer. I didn't go to a puppy farm or puppy mill. I bought it directly from a breeder. I wish I had had this book on puppy care before I got my boxer. Little did I know that it was a very rambunctious breed.
He was like a little kid even at two years of age. And love to play with the children in the neighborhood. But at 85 pounds he was a little bit intimidating. But he was even-tempered and a good dog. Although he did have a tendency to jump over the fence.
In this book "Puppy Care How to Choose & Raise a Healthy and Happy Puppy" there are some really valuable tips on how to buy a puppy or adopting one. Although the book is only 31 Pages it is power packed with a great deal of knowledge. You can tell the author really knows the subject of puppies.
If you are thinking of buying a new dog or adopting one this is the one book that you should buy. It is well written, concise and as mentioned earlier chock full of useful information that anyone no matter how experienced or inexperienced will appreciate.
